As the spoon of the flavor of the soup

Yāvajīvampi ce bālo, paṇḍitaṃ payirupāsati;

Na so dhammaṃ vijānāti, dabbī sūparasaṃ yathā.

Though all his life a fool associates with a wise man,

he yet remains ignorant of the Truth, as the spoon

of the flavor of the soup.
