Few among men are those who cross to the further shore

 

Appakā te manussesu, ye janā pāragāmino;

Athāyaṃ itarā pajā, tīramevānudhāvati.

Few among men are those who cross to the further shore.

The rest, the bulk of men, only run up and down the hither bank.
